Adaptation of Akimine Kamijyō's 'dark hero' manga to premiere in October

The official website for the Code:Breaker "dark hero" television anime is currently streaming a two television commercials for the series.

This anime adaptation of the Code:Breaker manga by Akimine Kamijyō (Samurai Deeper Kyo) is slated to premiere in Japan in October.

Yasuhiro Irie (Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Kurau: Phantom Memory) is directing the series at the studio Kinema Citrus. Yukie Akiya will serve as the character designer and chief animation director, and Masayuki Sakoi will serve as the assistant director.

The show's cast includes Kenichi Suzumura (Ouran High School Host Club's Hikaru) as Toki/Code:4, Nobuhiko Okamoto (Blue Exorcist's Rin) as Rei Ōgami, Yōko Hikasa (K-ON's Mio) as Sakura Sakurakōji, Subaru Kimura (Mawaru Penguindrum's Kanba) as Masaomi Heike, Toshiyuki Toyonaga (Durarara!!'s Mikado) as Yūki Tenbōin, Mitsuki Saiga (.hack's Tsukasa) as Rui Hachiōji, and Shinichirō Miki (Bleach's Kisuke Urahara) as Hitomi.

Kamijyō's manga debuted in Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine in 2008. The 19th compiled volume shipped in Japan last month.

Del Rey Manga published two volumes of the manga in North America in 2010 (before Kodansha USA took over Del Rey's manga titles) and described the plot as follows:

Rei seems like an affable transfer student to everyone around him, but quirky high school beauty Sakura sees his true face as a terrifying vigilante - a "nonexistent" Code:Breaker who cannot be touched by the law. And since Sakura has just witnessed the effects of his deadly blue flame, she's slated to be the next to burn!
