Kenji Hirasawa draws manga based on 2011 psychological thriller film

Manga creator Kenji Hirasawa, whose Under Life manga is currently running in Akita Shoten's Monthly Shōnen Champion magazine, will adapt Universal Pictures' Dream House psychological thriller film into a manga under the name Under Life Special Act: Dream House Volume. The manga will run in the same Shōnen Champion magazine.

Hirasawa, who is living in a one-bedroom house with a garden, as confessed that the residence is haunted. Hirasawa said that sometimes he suddenly looks up to see that people have arbitrarily entered his house. Hirasawa added that he has seen an old man with only half of his face and a female high school student with short hair and blood dripping from her eyes.

The 2011 Dream House film starring Daniel Craig, Naomi Watts, and Rachel Weisz will debut in theaters in Japan on November 23. The film revolves around Will (Craig) his wife Libby (Weisz), and their two daughters Trish and Dee Dee as they move into a new house. Will discovers that five years before they moved in, a mother and her two daughters were brutally murdered in the home.

Hirasawa's manga version of the film will debut in the December issue of Shōnen Champion that goes on sale on Tuesday. The manga will combine the events from Dream House with Hirasawa's own experiences.
