2-volume omnibus release to include color pages, extras from original Japanese version

North American publisher Vertical confirmed with ANN on Tuesday that it will release Iqura Sugimoto's manga adaptation of Mamoru Hosoda's Summer Wars film.

Vertical added that the manga will be released in two 300-page volumes, and will also include the color pages and extras featured in Kadokawa Shoten's original release. The first volume is scheduled for release on October 22, and the second volume is scheduled to ship in December.

Sugimoto serialized the manga in Kadokawa Shoten's Young Ace magazine from the magazine's inaugural issue in July 2009 to May 2010. Kadokawa Shoten then published the manga in three book volumes. Yumehito Ueda drew a separate Summer Wars King Kazuma vs. Queen Oz manga spinoff in Kadokawa Shoten's Monthly Comp Ace magazine from 2009 to 2010.

The original movie opened in Japan in July 2009, and Funimation released it in North America. Udon Entertainment confirmed earlier this month that it will release the Summer Wars: Material Book in North America on May 7.
