A Certain Magical Index Film Earns 100 Million Yen/US$1 Million

The Editor-in-Chief of Kadokawa Shoten's Movie Walker website reported on Monday that Toaru Majutsu no Index: Endymion no Kiseki (A Certain Magical Index: The Miracle of Endymion) film sold 69,117 tickets and earned 100,757,700 yen (about US$1,087,860) on Saturday and Sunday. The movie played on 30 screens throughout Japan and ranked #3 in its opening weekend.

The film was completed one week before its premiere and has a runtime of about 90 minutes.

The story revolves around main characters Touma Kamijo and Index's encounter with a level 0 girl named Arisa just before the completion of the Academy City space elevator "Endymion."
