Saint Young Men Ranks #9 at Box Office

The Saint Young Men anime film opened this past weekend in 75 theaters and earned the #9 spot at the box office. The film also ranked #2 in Pia's audience satisfaction surveys.
The anime film and Hikaru Nakamura's original manga imagine if the Enlightened One Buddha (voiced by actor Gen Hoshino) and the Son of God Jesus (SAKEROCK band leader Mirai Moriyama) shared a low-rent apartment in Tokyo's Tachikawa area. The two holy beings have landed on Earth and now experience the mortal life in Japan.
The original manga has sold more than 9.5 million copies. An original anime DVD was bundled with the eighth manga volume in December, and a second anime DVD will ship with the ninth volume in July.
