The Blue Exorcist film opened in box offices in Japan on December 28. The story introduced new character, the boy demon Usamaro (Rie Kugimiya) that the main character Rin meets in the film. Anime Expo will present the film with English subtitles.
Aniplex of America released the Blue Exorcist television series on subtitled DVD in North America. Viz Media's North American streaming service Neon Alley is currently airing the series in dubbed format.
Sasaki worked as a character designer for both the Blue Exorcist movie and series, as well as on Night Raid 1931. He has also worked as an animation director or key animator on the anime series Reideen, Sengoku Basara: Samurai Kings, and XXXHOLiC. This is Sasaki's first convention appearance in the United States.
