Anime Expo to Host AKB0048/anohana/Black Butler Writer Mari Okada

Prolific head writer on Vampire Knight, Toradora!, HanaIro, Sakurasou, Blast of Tempest, more

The organizers of Anime Expo announced on Monday that they will host screenwriter Mari Okada at the July 4-7 event in Los Angeles. Okada's prolific career in television anime began when she wrote episodes for such series as DT Eightron, Angel Tales, Rozen Maiden, Basilisk, and Darker than Black. By 2006, she moved up to the head writer position on a string of titles:

  • Venus to Mamoru
  • Kodomo no Jikan
  • Sketchbook ~full color'S~
  • True Tears
  • Vampire Knight
  • Toradora
  • Black Butler
  • Canaan
  • The Book of Bantorra
  • Zakuro
  • Gosick
  • Fractale
  • Wandering Son
  • Hanasaku Iroha ~ Blossoms for Tomorrow
  • anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day
  • Black Rock Shooter
  • Aquarion Evol
  • Lupin III: The Woman Called Fujiko Mine

Her current titles include The Pet Girl of Sakurasou, Blast of Tempest, AKB0048, and the upcoming Hanasaku Iroha: Home Sweet Home film.
