Odaiba restaurant's menu to change every few months based on One Piece story arcs
On June 28, "Baratie," a One Piece-themed restaurant, opened in the rooftop garden area of the Fuji TV building in Odaiba, Tokyo.
Imagined as the floating restaurant where One Piece chef character Sanji grew up in the anime series, the restaurant aims to draw customers into the anime's world. The restaurant's exterior resembles the hull of the anime's Baratie restaurant, and customers pass through the bow of Sabagashira I, the ship's mobile attack unit.
The interior of the restaurant is filled with details, such as a statue of Sanji welcoming customers to the restaurant and a map of the One Piece world painted on the ceiling, and legendary cooking ingredients like the Blue-Finned Elephant Tuna are lined up on the counter. At times, Zeff, the restaurant's owner and chef, will make an appearance, and the voices of Sanji and Luffy can be heard from the ship's galley.
The restaurant's menu follows the adventures of the anime's Straw Hat Pirates, and changes every few months to keep up with their journey. The first installment of the menu is based on the East Blue story arc from the series, and features food and drinks based on famous scenes and characters from the story. The lunch menu includes individual dishes and light meal options, while the dinner menu additionally features a prix fixe option based on the East Blue, as well as cocktails and drinks tied to the series.
The restaurant is open daily from 10:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., with varying hours depending on special events.
