One Piece Unlimited World R Game Previewed in 4-Minute Video
posted on by Egan Loo
Namco Bandai Games began streaming the fourth promotional video for the One Piece Unlimited World R video game for the Nintendo 3DS on Wednesday. The four-minute video features the brand-new characters that original manga creator Eiichiro Oda designed himself.
The gray-faced pirate Red will be voiced by Masachika Ichimura (Pokemon: The First Movie's Mewtwo, Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children's Red XIII). The original raccoon character Pat is voiced by Tarako (Chibi Maruko-chan's titular character, Noir's Altena). These two mysterious new characters hold the key to the game's story, which is set in the New World. They may be friend or foe as the Straw Hat Pirates face a corps of superpowered beings. Additionally, the game is getting another original character named Yadoya, voiced by Rumi Hiiragi (Spirited Away's Chihiro).
The video also introduces more familiar characters: M. Caesar Clown, Trafalgar Law, Hody Jones, Enel, and Crocodile.
The game will allow for up to four players to play together, and players can explore the world of One Piece with their friends. In addition, players can play fishing, bug-catching, and treasure-hunting mini games with up to four players. Ganbarion is developing the "multi action-adventure" title.
The game is also getting two Nintendo 3DS XL designs: Chopper Pink and Luffy Red. The game and the two 3DS XL consoles will ship in Japan on November 21. The first copies will include the download codes for a limited adventure costume of Luffy from One Piece Film Strong World, as well as an additional Marineford quest with Ace as a playable character.
