Sony Sells 80 Million PS3s, Plans New PS4 Launch Event

Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE) announced on Wednesday that it has sold over 80 million PlayStation 3s worldwide as of November 2. SCE began selling the console in Japan in November 2006.
Sony also announced on Tuesday that Spike TV will host a live "PS4 All Access: Greatness Awaits" launch event on November 14, one day before the PlayStation 4 console debuts in North America. Spike TV will run the event at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT, and the event will also stream online. Sony promises that the event will have "exclusive world premieres and announcements about the PS4 games."
