Akira Itō's manga in franchise with Bushiroad trading card game, 3 TV anime

North American publisher Vertical announced on Monday that it licensed Akira Itō's Cardfight!! Vanguard manga. The manga by the Yu-Gi-Oh! R artist is part of a franchise that also includes Bushiroad's trading card game and three main television anime. There has also been a live-action television adaptation, starring BREAKERZ band musician DAIGO, and Quily's four-panel Mini Van (Mini Vanguard) manga spinoff that inspired its own Flash anime.

Ito launched the main Cardfight!! Vanguard manga in Kadokawa's Kerokero Ace magazine in 2010, and Kadokawa published the sixth compiled book volume in August.

Bushiroad is releasing the original card game in English, along with a English-dubbed version of the first anime episodes. Crunchyroll has been streaming the three main television anime series as they air in Japan.
