Extended trailer shows more throwback scenes to classic PSOne game

A second trailer for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox360, and Xbox One video game Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes began streaming on Monday. The trailer shows more scenes from the special mission titled “Deja Vu.” The mission will let the player recreate scenes from the first Metal Gear Solid video game for the original PlayStation — as classic Snake himself. The mission will be exclusive for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 systems.

Metal Gear Solid V consists of two separate games: Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes and Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes provides the backstory behind the events in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.

Kiefer Sutherland will play the role of Snake in the games produced and directed by Hideo Kojima. Yoji Shinkawa will serve as character and mechanical designer, Hideki Sasaki as CG art director, Junji Tago as technical director, and Masayuki Suzuki as lighting artist.

Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes features open-world gameplay supported by Kojima Productions' new FOX Engine. Players can decide between an overt or stealthy approach to missions.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain features Snake after he wakes up from a nine-year coma. Snake has lost a lot of his abilities, and must crawl through a hospital to escape.

Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes is scheduled to debut on the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One consoles next Spring. The PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 disc release will retail for US$29.99. The digital release will be US$19.99. The digital-only PlayStation 4 and Xbox One release will be US$29.99.
