Namco Bandai Games previewed the contents of its Tales of Symphonia Chronicles Collector's Edition in North America with an unboxing video on Thursday:
The limited edition of 18,000 contains different contents from the European release. Each serial-numbered box with exclusive North American illustrations will include the game itself with a reversible cover, instruction booklet, and a SteelBook case. It will also bundle a four-CD soundtrack with 98 tracks, the Art of Tales of Symphonia Chronicles booklet with a voucher for custom theme DLC, five Chibi Kyun Chara figurines (Lloyd, Collette, Emil, Marta and Tenebrae), and an English-translated Tales of Symphonia: Successors of Hope hardcover light novel with a never-revealed story based on the game by Takumi Miyajima.
Namco Bandai Games also streamed a "Hope" trailer to tease the story, gameplay and in-game animated footage:
The Collector's Edition will retail for US$99.95 and, though it was originally limited to 15,000 copies, has since been upped to 18,000 copies to meet pre-order demand.
Tales of Symphonia Chronicles is the PlayStation 3 remaster of the Tales of Symphonia and the Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World games. The remastered game shipped in Japan on October 10 for 6,980 yen (about US$70). Namco Bandai Games will release the game in the Americas on February 25, and in Europe and Australia on February 28. For the first time in the franchise's history, the game will have both English and Japanese audio tracks.
Namco Bandai Games began streaming an English-subtitled trailer in September, and revealed to the public at last year's New York Comic Con that a Collector's Edition for Tales of Symphonia Chronicles was in the works.
