Duel Masters Versus TV Anime to Premiere in April

Gintama's Shinobu Sasaki directs Duel Masters card franchise's new series

The newest Duel Masters television series, Duel Masters Versus, was announced with an official website on Saturday. The series will premiere on TV Tokyo on April 5 at 8:30 a.m.

Shinobu Sasaki (Gintama', Battle Spirits: Brave episode director) is directing the series at Ascension and Shogakukan Music & Digital Entertainment, with Yoichi Kato (Mushibugyō, Yōkai Watch) in charge of series composition. Yosuke Yabumoto (Inazuma Eleven GO, Saint Seiya Omega animation director) is designing the characters, with Shinji Kawai serving as art director. Yoshiyuki Chōnan (Kizuna Ichigeki, One Piece Episode of Luffy: Hand Island no Bōken production manager) is the animation producer.

Akiko Fujita (Duel Masters Victory V3, Servant × Service) is returning as sound director, with Norihide Tanaka (Duel Masters, Hayate the Combat Butler!!) as music producer and Jun'ichi Igarashi (Duel Masters, Duel Masters: Lunatic God Saga) in charge of music. Japanese punk band GaGaGa SP is performing the opening theme song.

Takao Murakami, Shutaro Furuya, Koichiro Maki, and Shin Jingūji are supervising the anime. Masue Hironori and Naruto Nishite cooperated on the original concept.

Returning main cast members include:

  • Yumiko Kobayashi as Katta Kirifuda
  • Ryuuzou Ishino as Bucchake
  • Eriko Hirata as Ben-chan

New cast members include:

  • Masayoshi Sugawara as Hokaben
  • Sakura Tange as Ruru Takigawa
  • Fumie Mizusawa as Lucifer
  • Nobuyuki Hiyama as Kojirō
  • Setsuji Satoh as hot-blooded narrator

The franchise's latest television anime series, Duel Masters Victory V3, premiered in Japan last April in the same Saturday timeslot.
