The game is slated to ship in Japan on November 20 for the price of 6,170 yen (about US$61). First copies of the game will ship with a product code to download an episode of the M3 the dark metal radio program specially recorded for the game, and a reversible jacket for the game featuring an illustration by the Satelight staff.

The M3 the dark metal anime premiered in late April. Media distribution service and retailer Daisuki is streaming the television anime series as it airs in Japan.

The ensemble drama story follows four boys and four girls, team Gargouille's exploration of a mysterious space called the Avidya Domain in the science-fiction setting of near-future Tokyo.

Junichi Satō (Sailor Moon, Kaleido Star, Aria franchise) directs the project at the studio Satelight (Macross Frontier, Bodacious Space Pirates), and Mari Okada (anohana, Nagi no Asukara) is in charge of the scripts. Shōji Kawamori (Macross franchise, Cyber Formula franchise) works on the mecha designs.

A manga adaptation premiered in Mag Garden's Monthly Comic Blade on April 30.
