Koei Tecmo Games annnounced the next game in its La Corda d'Oro dating simulation franchise during the "Neo Romance Festa: La Corda d'Oro Featuring Jinnan High School Op. 2" event on Saturday. La Corda d'Oro 4 will debut on the PS Vita system next year.
The event unveiled a promotional video for the new game that featured characters from the earlier La Corda D'Oro 3 game for female players. According to the stills in the video, the story is set after summer has ended, in autumn or later. The staff is accepting submissions for uniform designs.
La Corda D'Oro 3's story follows a girl named Kanade and her relationships with the orchestra members and other boys at her school. The game inspired the La Corda d'Oro Blue Sky anime (pictured right). Crunchyroll streamed the anime as it aired in Japan last spring. Sentai Filmworks announced on Tuesday that it has licensed the anime and plans to release the series digitally and on home video.
The game franchise also inspired a television anime series in 2006, and a television special sequel, La Corda D'Oro ~secondo passo~, aired in spring of 2009. Sentai Filmworks also licensed and released the first series. Viz published Yuki Kure's first La Corda d'Oro manga series in North America.
