Pre-orders for the New Berserk Statue Will Begin on April 28, 2026, at 1:00 PM JPT
ART OF WAR's first product themed around the legendary “Dragon Slayer”.
TOKYO, JAPAN – April 17, 2026 - ART OF WAR, the Japan-based fine art brand devoted to exploring Japanese history, culture, and aesthetics through sculpture, will release a new edition of its a brand-new theme, “Dragon Slayer,” in a strictly limited edition of 77 pieces beginning April 28, 2026, at 1:00 PM JPT. This price is 165,000 JPY.
This is a sculptural work that maximally captures the appeal and power of the massive sword “Dragon Slayer,” wielded by the protagonist Guts from the Japanese manga ”Berserk".Often regarded as a symbol of Berserk, this rugged lump of iron has captivated many fans.
A Blade That Bears the Marks of War
The coloring has reached an unprecedented level of realism, allowing viewers to sense the sword's scale and weight. The rugged blade, resembling a solid block of iron, enhances the overwhelming presence of the Dragon Slayer.
Having absorbed the blood and oil of enemies, and fought relentlessly through rain, wind, day and night, the sword bears iron-like corrosion that tells the story of countless battles. The coloring is rendered with advanced techniques, achieving a level of realism that makes it appear indistinguishable from actual iron.
The arm of Guts gripping the greatsword is marked with fresh wounds, and the cloth wrapped around the hand and hilt is stained with blood — hinting at the countless foes that have fallen before him.
The carefully recreated texture of scars carved into the sword and the blood-rusted blade evoke the weight and history of past battles. The stone pillar into which the sword is embedded is partially destroyed, demonstrating the overwhelming power of the Dragon Slayer.
The colors of the decayed, moss-covered temple-like pillars and stone pavement, painted to match the world of Berserk, suggest the passage of long years. Yet Guts' arm holding the sword feels vividly alive.
Although the composition has a still, static presence, it conveys a sense of time's flow through the contrast between the inorganic nature of the Dragon Slayer, the organic realism of Guts, and the ancient stonework.
Created for Presence and Scale
For this work, we considered two key aspects: the sense of scale when displayed and the overwhelming weight of the Dragon Slayer, and have finished it at this size accordingly.
The blade that Godo single-mindedly forged in pursuit of pure destructive power appears so massive that Guts' arm looks small by comparison — truly “too big to be called a sword.” One can almost imagine Guts swinging the Dragon Slayer.
Revived through Godo's final work as a blacksmith, the Dragon Slayer continues to cut down everything in its path in the hands of the Black Swordsman, absorbing blood and oil once again. Both terrifying and captivating, it firmly grips the hearts of Berserk fans.
