Tsuburaya began streaming the first episode of 2004's Ultraman Nexus on YouTube in December. The company announced that the full, 37-episode series will stream "soon" on Crunchyroll with English subtitles.

In July, Tsuburaya streamed a mysterious region-locked "ULTRAMAN_n/a" video with no description, featuring a CG-rendered first-generation Ultraman fighting a kaijū in Tokyo's Shibuya ward. The video features English text on the screen, stating "In a time of destruction / He returns / The ultimate battle begins." The video ends with the text "7.7". Tsuburaya Productions Co., Ltd. founder Eiji Tsuburaya was born on July 7, 1901.
