Kodansha Comics began streaming a video on Thursday featuring manga writer and artist Tsutomu Nihei. In the video, Nihei mentions that he would like to show a sneak peek of the upcoming anime film adaptation of his Blame! manga during his appearance at Comic-Con International in July.
Polygon Pictures will animate the film project.
Nihei launched the science-fiction action story Blame! as his first manga series in Kodansha's Monthly Afternoon magazine in 1997, and ended it in 2003. Tokyopop published the 10-volume manga in North America. Kodansha published a new six-volume edition of the manga in Japan last year.
Comic-Con International will run from July 21-24 at the San Diego Convention Center. The convention is also hosting Pokémon manga creators Hidenori Kusaka and artist Satoshi Yamamoto.
