Pacific Media Expo Hosts Animators Masashi Kudo, Mamoru Yokota

The staff for the Pasadena convention Pacific Media Expo announced over the past week that it will host animator and character designers Masashi Kudo and Mamoru Yokota as guests of honor.

Kudo made his debut as character designer on the Bleach anime, where he adapted original author Tite Kubo's designs for animation. He has also done design work for Wings of Rean, the Hayate the Combat Butler anime franchise, Survival Game Club!, and MAOYU, and directed the Kyō no Asuka Show and Re-Kan! anime. He has served as key animator and animation supervisor on numerous other shows such as Turn A Gundam, Now and Then, Here and There, Witch Hunter Robin, and Planetes.

Yokota debuted as a character designer on Louie the Rune Soldier, and then drew original character designs for Magical Kanan. He has also drawn character designs for Bizarre Cage and Angelium. He has also worked as an animator or animation supervisor on such anime as DNA², Death Note, Naruto Shippūden, Macross Frontier, Star Blazers 2199, and Gatchaman Crowds, and served as a producer on Air and the 2002 television anime adaptation of Kanon. He also served as both director and animation director for the opening animation for the Blazblue: Continuum Shift II game.

Pacific Media Expo will take place at the Pasadena Convention Center in California from November 11 to 13. The convention is also hosting Mari Nakamura from the Juliette et Justine fashion brand.
