posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
Set contains all 26 episodes, extras

FUNimation Entertainment announced on Monday that it will re-release the Fruits Basket anime in its first Blu-ray Disc release in the United States. The Fruits Basket "Sweet Sixteen Anniversary Edition" will contain all 26 episodes, a chipboard box, new artwork from the Japanese Blu-ray Disc release, and 12 art cards. The set will also contain a video commentary for episode 24, trailers, textless opening and closing sequences, Fruits Basket Room Nos. 1-3, a behind the scenes featurette, an interview with director Akitarō Daichi, an eyecatch gallery, an interview with the English cast, outtakes, an illustration gallery, the English opening and closing themes, and audition footage.

The Blu-ray Disc release is slated for August 1.

Funimation describes the anime:

Life for 16-year-old Tohru is turned upside down when she suddenly loses her mother. Without a home and unwilling to burden her friends, she's stuck living in a tent. But what she doesn't realize is she's on Souma family property and her life is about to get even more complicated when she gets caught up in their big family secret!

Funimation released the anime on single DVDs from 2002 to 2003. Tokyopop previously released Natsuki Takaya's original manga in English from 2004 to 2009. Yen Press re-released the manga in 12 updated volumes since June 2016. The 12th and last volume shipped on April 18.

Thanks to Rukiia and kenno20081for the news tips.

Update: The episode 24 commentary is a video. Thanks NJ_
