Square Enix announced a smartphone treasure-hunting RPG titled Last Idea on Friday. Service is slated to launch for iOS and Android this spring.
The game follows a novice treasure hunter, the protagonist, and a mysterious amnesiac girl named Lucrecia. In the beginning, the protagonist goes to an abandoned castle on an island to follow a lead given to him by a fortune teller friend. Upon his arrival, an earthquake hits and darkness comes out from the ground and shrouds the sky. Monsters lay siege to the castle, and there's a girl on the balcony who looks like she is about to be attacked.
The game will feature a hack-and-slash battle system using the "smart command" interface, which has patents pending.
Studio A-Cat is producing animation for the game. The main character designer is Gaō, and Shota Kageyama is composing the music. The voice cast includes Manaka Iwami, Aya Suzaki, Kento Fujinuma, Ai Kakuma, Minami Takahashi, Keiji Fujiwara, Minami Takayama, Yuko Minaguchi, Hikaru Midorikawa, Rie Kugimiya, Jun Fukuyama, Yumi Sudou, Sakura Nakamura, Mitsuki Nakae, Satoru Murakami, and Tasuku Kida, among others.
