Doraemon: Story of Seasons Game's System Introduction Trailer Streamed

posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
Game launches for Switch in Japan on June 13, in N. America for Switch/Steam this fall

Bandai Namco Entertainment began streaming a system introduction video on Thursday for the Doraemon: Story of Seasons (Doraemon: Nobita no Bokujō Monogatari) game. The video highlights aspects of the produce part of the game, such as tilling fields, planting seeds, watering the fields, harvesting, and shipping out the harvest. The video also reveals the game's June 13 release date on the Nintendo Switch in Japan.

Bandai Namco Entertainment America will release the game for the Nintendo Switch and for PC via Steam in the Americas this fall. The game will also launch in Europe and Southeast Asia this fall.

Bandai Namco Entertainment, Marvelous, and Nintendo announced the game in February. Brownies is developing the crossover game with the Doraemon and Story of Seasons (Bokujō Monogatari) franchises.

The game takes place in a new original location named Shizen Town, notable for its gigantic tree. The game will have a theme of "bonds." Elements of the series' mechanics returns, such as building and upgrading a farm, choosing which crops to plant, and forming relationships with NPCs. However, as in the Doraemon franchise, players will be able to utilize Doraemon's gadgets in gameplay.

Natsume published most of the previous games in the franchise under the umbrella title of Harvest Moon in North America. However, since XSEED Games — Marvelous AQL's own subsidiary — published the Bokujō Monogatari: Tsunagaru Shin Tenchi game in North America in March 2015, it cannot use Natsume's Harvest Moon title. XSEED most recently released Story of Seasons: Trio of Towns (Bokujō Monogatari: Mitsu no Sato no Taisetsu na Tomodachi) for the Nintendo 3DS in February 2017.
