Go! Comi, Diamond Renew Booktrade Agreement

GO! COMI, DIAMOND RENEW BOOKTRADE AGREEMENT
April 9, 2007 -
Official Press Release
After two fruitful years of partnership, Diamond Book Distributors and Go! Comi have renewed their agreement, ensuring "the soul of manga" will continue to reach as many audiences as possible. As part of the deal, Diamond will remain as the exclusive North American distributor of Go! Comi's books to the bookstore, library, warehouse, mass merchandise, specialty mass merchandise, hobby, game and comic book specialty markets.

Having launched in October 2005 to much acclaim, Go! Comi has been dedicated to both importing manga from Japan and developing new international collaborations. Their highly successful titles include Her Majesty’s Dog by Mick Takeuchi, Crossroad by Shioko Mizuki, and Tenshi Ja Nai!! (I'm no Angel!!) by Takako Shigematsu. Recently, the American Library Association (ALA) commissioned artist You Higuri to create an exclusive poster for the ALA's popular "Read" poster series featuring the protagonist of Go! Comi's renowned Cantarella series. Higuri's ALA poster marked the first time a Japanese manga artist has created a poster for the series, further demonstrating Go! Comi's mainstream popularity.

"We are honored to continue representing Go! Comi's line of acclaimed manga titles," said Diamond Vice President of Purchasing Bill Schanes. "Not only is our relationship stronger than ever, we will work hard to consistently provide quality manga to retailers everywhere." Said Go! Comi CEO David Wise: "As our company expands into the creation of original properties, Diamond's unparalleled expertise in the field of graphic novels makes them an invaluable partner for us. We look forward to working with them for another two years of strong growth." Diamond's Sales Team will continue working with bookstores, book wholesalers, warehouse clubs, mass merchandisers, and libraries to place Go! Comi titles across the country.
