Welcome To SunnyCon, the Sunderland Japanese Culture and Anime convention, March 24-25 2012

From Saturday to Sunday the 24th and 25th March 2012, Sunderland will be hosting SunnyCon, the Sunderland Japanese Culture and Anime convention. This will be the first convention of its' type in the city and offers a weekend of awesomeness.

There will be a look at Japanese culture with language tasters and panels from culture experts over the weekend. Also there will be a video gaming area featuring tournaments and prizes as well as a dealer's area with specialist traders who sell Japanese related goods and anime merchandise. Also for the convention we have special guest appearances over the weekend with guests from expert cosplayers through to manga and art experts along with internationally famous voice actors Christopher Sabat and Veronica Taylor.

The convention is taking place in the Crowtree leisure centre, a large venue situated next door to the Bridges shopping mall right in the heart of Sunderland city centre. The convention will run over the weekend from 10 am to 6 pm on the Saturday and 10.30 am to 6 pm on the Sunday with an evening party on the Saturday night. We will be announcing more details, events and dealers over the next coming weeks so keep an eye on our social media Facebook and Twitter pages for regular updates.

There is an age limit of 12+ for the daytime event and the evening event is 18+ only. Evening tickets are not available in advance and must be purchased on the day of the event. Tickets are limited we have 1000 available so register as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
