Anime USA Hosts a Game Café & Cosplay Fashion Show at the Sakura Matsuri

Anime USA provides fun, games, and entertainment at the Sakura Matsuri Street Festival on April 13, 2013

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Apr. 9, 2013 — The Japan-America Society of Washington D.C. (JASWDC) invited Anime USA to participate in the 53rd Sakura Matsuri Japanese Street Festival on Saturday, April 13, 2013. This year will mark the first year of Anime USA's Game Café and the return of the popular Cosplay Fashion Show.

Anime USA is teaming up with Japan Now to host a brand New Game! Café. The Game Café will bring a variety of authentic Japanese games to event attendees. Local cosplayers, maids from Anime USA's maid café, and hosts from Anime USA's host club will teach attendees the history of Japanese games. Attendees are invited to play live games, such as Bamboo Nyokki, ACCHI Muite Hoi, Pin Pon Pan, Konpira Funefune, and Kamizumo, with the cosplayers and each other.

The Cosplay Fashion Show will be a 45-minute, family-friendly show featuring local cosplayers bringing their favorite Anime, manga, and video game characters to life through cosplay and live performances. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn what inspires these amazing costumes and the work that goes into creating them.

Attendees of the festival can visit the official Anime USA booth to meet the official Anime USA mascot, Kaede, along with the maids of Anime USA's My Cup of Tea Maid Café, and hosts from Anime USA's Club Ikemen Paradise Host Club. Sakura Matsuri takes place on Saturday, April 13, 2013 on six blocks through downtown D.C. on Pennsylvania Avenue from 9th to 14th Streets NW.
