| Mazinger Z (TV) | Bad | Can't remember what annoyed me so much about this series. Probably the rather silly baddies. It put me off mecha shows for a decade. |

| Shōnen Ninja Kaze no Fujimaru (TV) | Very good | My first taste of Miyazaki. Not that I knew who he was, or even that you needed *people* to actually make the cool comics and stuff. |
| Space Adventure Cobra (TV) | Good | I used to want a gun in my arm. Cobra was the series that impressed on me how cool these Japa things were. You know, like very damn cool, and with layers waiting to be peeled off and stuff. The joy of adolescent geeky self-absorption, ah! |
| Speed Racer (TV) | Very good | I can hardly think of this series as "animation." It's more like background music to so many of my childhood memories. |
| Treasure Island (TV) | Very good | I really used to love Long John Silver's nasty sense of humor. This series made crutches my favorite close-range weapon of all time. |
