Just ordered GTO

Hey just wanted to say I ordered the GTO box set. I have seen a couple episodes and thought it was a good show. The selling point was coming here and hearing about what you guys had to say about it. Its definately a step in a different direction of anime to me. I got started with DBZ and found myself liking Ninja Scroll and the Bebop episodes. I am still more interested in more fantasy oriented anime. Something new I guess. So this is kind of a impulse buy but I think I will be pleased. Thank you guys for the info!

Don't worry about it. GTO is a great series I think, even though you like fantasy anime, that you will love this series. It has its touching moments, but if you really want to see the emotion that could have been there in the anime, then check out the live action.

The second boxset of GTO is going to be announced sometimes, since the first box carries the first five DVDs. Five more to go!!!

There is another topic on this exact subject about the first GTO boxset, you might want to do a topic search next time you are gonna start a new thread. Anyways, I ordered the first box set after watching a few fansubs, and it is definately one of my favorite shows, I can't wait till the inevitable second box set comes out.

Ditto, I saw a couple episodes at an anime convention and got hooked immediately---bought all the manga that were out and now just ordered the first box set.

How much did you guys pay for the GTO box set? I want to make sure I got a good price!

Cool. DeepDiscountDVD has it for $60, but they had a coupon last week for 20%, so that brought it down to $48, no tax, no shipping.
