The only problem with English as my first (and relatively only) language is that whenever a nice looking anime pops up in Tokyo, I have to say to myself, wow I bet that will be awesome to watch . . . IN 5 YEARS!!! God I wish there was a more expedient way to make the FROM JAPAN TO AMERICA hop-over, but that is getting into wishfull thinking . . . Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad

Texhnolyze took 8 months to come here, aswell as Haibane renmei, paranoia agent, and a bunch of other shows. if it makes you feel any better, japan does get stuff from the US after we do.

Chalk it up to Japanese selfishness.

OH AND this is the talkback section, so please post such threads in the "anime" section

Ever heard of fansubs? Translated and ready the day after the Japanese broadcast and in decent quality too. Personally I want my anime on dvd's because of superior picture quality and I want to support the artists but if you can't wait...

5 years? That's overexaggerating. Perhaps, you should stop looking up new animes coming out in japan and start looking up new anime being release here.

And think of it this way, other countries (like africa) don't even have anime or very little of it so they resort to fansub.

Fansub should be use to promote the series (like watching the first 5 episode), because we all know there are tons of people who abuse this system to get entire series of anime for free.

It took like 10 years to get Slam Dunk licenced and pretty much nearly the same with Dragon Ball. I guess for more classic series that's understandable. WHEN WILL AMERICA LICENCE ASHITA NO JOE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Only God knows...

On an unrelated and utterly useless but slightly cool note, I interviewed Chiba Tetsuya a few months ago.

how do you know it's good, if you can't understand what the text says?
i thought yamibou was going to be a silly series with a girl and her funky looking hat but it turned out to be a heavily sexually influenced yuri anime. still a good watch, but still.

just watch fansubs if you're so desperate.

You want to be a polish anime fan?
You want to know how many licensed anime we got here? Well lets count. There is Ninja Scroll.. and... oh there is Perfect Blue, Bebop Arjuna and... NOTHING!! This is all we got! #&*%$#$* and you still complain? God dammit.
All fans here live off fansubs. We need them because there is a snowballs chance in hell we will get to see any of those fansubs in licensed forms. We did have a great channel which showed anime but guess what? Smile It Was Cancelled. So dont whine about having to wait long for your fav anime to be put in DVD form. Watch fansubs, collect manga whatever. You still have it better than most of us here in Poland. I know it`s not much of a console but hey, its all I got for ya Razz

Aggravating to be an american fan?

Try being a British fan, once anime makes its way to america it takes triple the time to get over here, and most anime dont even make it here, its the worst. I have to import anime from the states

I know it may sound bad, buy my friends and I buy "bootlegs". They're cheaper and are really good quality...and you can see more animes with more kinds of stories.

Another thing, since anime and manga is becoming more popular in America than it has been in recent years, both anime and manga are coming to America faster. Tsubasa and XXXHolic (mangas) are coming to America and the series isn't finished yet.
