We all know that these two are the best anime on CN hands down but which one in your opinion is better now. My pick may surprize some because of mine screename but I pick Bleach because the storyline of Ichigo finally finishing his soul reaper training and trying to save Rukia is much better than Naruto. People may disagree because of The Hokage fight but I think that fight is too long and boring. Matter of fact I think the Shino and Kankuro fight was better in pacing and action. Also, the demolition of the leaf village arc do not hit its trive until the Gaara and Naruto fight. Futhermore,I think they should promote Bleach more instead of shoving Naruto down own thoart. It would be nice to have a Bleach marathorn for instead of Naruto

Personally, I don't really like to put one over the other because I like them both the same. However, if I had to chose one over the other, I would choose Naruto, basically because it is more inspirational and has a lot more heart. I mean, bleach has it's moments, and it's storyline I will admit is way better, about on the same level as FMA, but Naruto has a lot more of a dramatic feel to it. That's about all it really comes down to because I think they are very much on par as far as everything else goes: fight sequences, animation, ect.

Oh, and by the way, COLTS RULE!!!!!!!

HA!! that's where opinions differ. Right now, Trinity Blood and Eureka 7 is better then Naruto IMO so I wouldn't even put it up against each other right now. Although we're getting to the really good parts of Naruto, until then the amazing Eureka 7 and pretty good TB is beating it. And I've already seen all of Eureka 7

Are you implying that the rescue of Rukia is a more admirable one than the rescue of Sasuke? The two anime is similar to some extent but is contradistinct in terms of storyline. Moreover, Bleach did have marathon which was fixated into the schedule of [adult swim]. I don't believe I can recall the actual date that this marathon took place, but I can say it was held on a Saturday as of last January (2007). Also, the reason why Bleach is not run through Toonami is due to its content, which is not suitable for mainstream viewers such as "young children." Do I find watching Bleach more enjoyable than Naruto? Honestly, I think the two compliment each other and is at par from one another in comparison.

Personally, I can barely stand either. I prefer Bleach, however, because Ichigo is a more interesting protagonist than Naruto.

Good shonen is hard to find. Death Note was great, but it's a rare exception.

Bleach all the way! I serioulsy cannot stand Naruto, and it just does not intrest me. My friend told me I dislike Naruto because I'm a huge Ghost in the Shell fan. (hence my username LOL) but I don't know why...... Question but I think the action is better in Bleach, I've seen a bunch of Naruto, but it just put me to sleep. (I actually feel asleep! Wink

They're far from the best anime that are on CN. However, if I had to choose one, I pick Naruto. Bleach started off well and the first season was very interesting, but started falling off quickly after that. I got bored somewhere around #40. It was getting bad after spoiler[they introduced 12 Captains and 12 Sub-Captains and made them fight for no reason, and I didn't bother continuing after they brought in the Baunts]. Those arcs were so terrible that I had to stop.

Naruto also has a large cast, but does a better job of making side characters interesting and even giving them their own stories. It didn't start as strong, but I'm around the 100th episode and I still haven't seen a string of episodes as miserable as I'd seen in Bleach.

You'd really classify Death Note as shonen? I mean, yeah its directed at males in general but saying it's in the same genre as Bleach and Naruto is a poor generalization at best.

Anyway, I think I was more into Naruto when I was watching it than I am with Bleach. Mainly because I caught up with Bleach around the start of the Bounto arc so it didn't last quite as long; as opposed to Naruto where I never got to the point where I was waiting on episode releases. Thus, with Naruto I was able to get entirely into it for a longer period of time and truly play it out. Bleach I got very into (and I'm pretty into the Vaizard arc so far) but after the one massive Soul Society arc there was filler.

Bleach has a better general story and characters than Naruto does but Naruto drew me in deeper. Mainly because I was expecting something great and thats what I got. I also identified with the characters to a surprising degree. Naruto has deeper choreography in its fights too. Bleach gives off lots of intensity and drama during fights and does a very good job building drama to lead into them, but theres lots of DBZ elements of energy auras and power levels and the like.

if were doing Naruto vs Bleach in dub then i would say Bleach no contest. i think the dubbing and editing is crap on naruto.

but if were talking sub Naruto vs Bleach then they are on par. each has its good elements and bad elements.

It ran in Shonen Jump, along with Bleach and Naruto. It's shonen.

Death Note may be de facto shonen but I was merely saying that classifying it as shonen in the same way that Naruto and Bleach are shonen is a poor way of defining the series. Eyeshield 21 is also shonen and it ran in the Jump but anybody who knows what it is would say that it's sports over simply being shonen. As a classification for series content a shonen would be heavy on fighting and gratuitous yelling and power flexing, and of course, Death Note has none of that.

And since this really is just irrelevant semantics I'll stop now that my point has been made.

Death Note may indeed be a shonen, and it does have certain shonen stereotypes (kid with big ego- Light, rival- L, obsessed girl- Misa, etc)...but not others (it's not 100+ eps, not loads of fighting etc).

Overall, shonen is just one of many genres DN could be put in, whereas Bleach and Naruto should be classed as shonen first and everything else later, IMO.

Anyways, best show on CN right now is Samurai Champloo, I think. The english Naruto sucks, and Bleach is just alright...

LOL no, shounen title are gear towards boys. Eyeshield is a sports shounen title. Bleach is an action shounen title. Love Hina is a comedy shounen title. I think you're the one that's confused about the term and trying to generalize it into something it's not. What's next? FMA isn't a shounen because it has some deep philosophical moments?

Shounen anime/manga simply means kids (under 18, actually I think after age 16 they are considered adults) manga. It doesn't matter what type of plot or scenario the story has, because it'll be just classified under a sub-genre such as a sports-shounen, action-shounen and so on. Shounen literally means "little people". It's just a label they use to for animes/mangas targeted for people over the age of 8 and under 18 (or 16). It's like the "young adults" section in bookstores in the US.

BACK ON TOPIC:
I personally prefer Bleach for the storyline because it deals with shinigamis/death gods. For some reason I think they're very interesting and my two top anime/mangas right now both deal with them (Bleach and Death Note). It also has more of a "teenaged" feel (I wouldn't dare say "adult") than Naruto. There's also a lot of unknowns in the story that the anime are starting to explain and the manga has sort of touched on (there's a lot more - for those who don't read the manga). The plot is kind of typical but it sure makes you want to either read on or watch more. Naruto on the hand is kind of childish. I do think their fight scenes are more creative and more entertaining though. But the plot is just kind of "ehh" for me right now.

Well, like some other people have mentioned, I wouldn't call them the 'best anime on CN'... but if I had to choose between the two I would pick Naruto. I'm really not that impressed with either but Naruto at least has the characters I like (I'm a big fan of the manga). Even though Bleach has its strong points (and much better filler episodes) I just never connected with the characters.
