Well, Mai did sing in Ponyo as well.

She appears in the DVD/blu-ray release from the 3 Joe Hisaishi concerts held in August 2008 in Nippon Budokan.

Very surprised Square-Enix got second place, especially considering the way they've been in recent years. Bit disappointed that Valve got seventh place, but at least it was in the top ten. For the new poll, if Kirito and Asuna are number one, I will have lost faith in anime fans.

Other items that could be on the list:

Hideaki Anno's second live action movie, Shikijitsu, was produced by Studio Kajino, a branch of Studio Ghibli. http://www.koyagi.com/recLive.html#ShikiJitsu

Oshii's Ghost in the Shell Innocence feature was partly funded by Studio Ghibli.

The Animators are Treated Really Well

But on the other hand, in the recent Ghibli documentary movie one animator says that working under Miyazaki is difficult and demanding, and people have quit as a result.

Most difficult poll ever? Just the sheer number of choices made whittling it down a chore. I went with Holo and Lawrence, but really, there are at least half a dozen couples that I could legitimately call "my favorite."

For the poll, I eventually went with Utena and Anthy, but I have a ton of runners-up:
- Cher and Hub (Wolf's Rain)
- Isaac and Miria (Baccano!)
- Riza and Roy (FMA)
Not listed:
- Kotetsu and Barnaby (Tiger & Bunny), whether as a romance or a bromance I don't care, they're fun to watch together
- Claire and Chane (Baccano!), because they will have the best "how we met" story to tell their children
- Yang Wenli and Frederica Greenhill (Legend of the Galactic Heroes)
- Watanuki and Doumeki (xxxHOLiC)
- Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune (Sailor Moon)

You can add to the polls. I was happy to see that someone added Kyoko and Yusaku from Maison Ikkoku!

But you're only allowed to vote once, right? Like I said, those are all my runner-ups.

Well, I voted for Riza Hawkeye x Roy Mustang, which is my #1 ship. It would be impossible to choose my #2 ship though...:T

The results of this poll will be super spread out. However, I'm guessing the one I voted for may get over 1% of votes. Hopefully...

Yes. I'm curious to see what will happen.

I do love that we were able to add our own choices though. Thanks!

...soup?

Y'all just voted for Asuna X Kirito, didn't you? Kids these days.

I just thought of an obvious couple not on the list:

Emma x William (Emma: A Victorian Romance)

While I adore KEY games and I love Nagisa and Okazaki, I couldn't deny my love of Battler and Beatrice.

Was neat to know how nice Ghibli is to work at!!!

A great list today. Miyazaki drew all the water in Ponyo? The man must have adamantium hands!

There are way too many joke couples in the new poll. For some legitimacy I just added Ryo and Kaori from City Hunter to it.

Its Hachiman Hikigaya x Saika Totsuka(Himawari x Sakurako from Yuru yuri is a close second)
