I wish there was some way I could buy this in the US.

I have a feeling I'd have to pay ridiculous shipping/customs fees if there was, though.

Keytar is the most pointless musical instrument ever invented. They're also very expensive, which is a good thing itself.

The keytar isn't that pointless. If you want pointless then the Firebird takes the cake for me (a valve/slide trumpet) since it doesn't even work well. Besides, without keytars Vadim would have to lug around a keyboard around stage during shows. Also I consider $700 cheap for a good instrument. The average professional grade clarinet goes for $2,500 stock. The more exotic bass winds like contra-bass clarinets go for around $12,000 to $15,000.

Odd. I remember Mugi using a standard keyboard, not a keytar.

If it weren't for the shipping costs and custom fees, one would be saving a few hundred dollars buying Mugi's keytar.

She's shown using the keytar in the 'Don't Say Lazy' ED song of the first season.

Keytar is great as a more portable keyboard :\

Also "Celebrating both the five-year anniversary of K-ON and Tsumugi Kotobuki's belated birthday on July 1"

Shouldn't that also be a belated for the Anniversary? Because it was last year. "K-On!" aired in 2009.

Unless Japan was celebrating the 5th anniversary of K-On!! (Apr. 7, '10), this doesn't make sense since the K-On! anime debuted Apr. 3. '09.

Not sure how the keytar costs in Philippine pesos (shipping costs and some fees added), but me likey even if it's going to be an expensive one.

It's ongoing. It's like the continued new Sailor Moon merchandise as part of the 20th anniversary even though we're a couple years past that now.
