Wait, green tea Kitkats are Japan-exclusive? A local Asian supermarket chain sells them in my state.

Break me off a piece of THAT KitKat bar! Razz

(My old curiosity about Japanese snacks has cooled somewhat since my 90's proto-otaku days, now that Pocky is more widely available, but this has just reawakened it.)

Take a break, have a KitKat, and wash it down with sake. Job's a good'un. Laughing

Surely now I won't get drunk after trying a few of those sake-flavored Kit-Kats?

I got a large pouch of green tea-flavored KitKat (apparently imported from Japan, of course) as one of the Christmas gifts I got last year. The mini-bars themselves tasted pretty good.

I wonder, if I end up getting a pouch of sake-flavored KitKat as a gift next Christmas, will it taste good and make me feel drunk at the same time?

I cannot wait for this to hit the internet market and add this to my collection of Japanese Kit Kats.

Oh man I gotta find this.

A few years ago I was the Kit Kat master at my job. Because I would buy several types of Kit Kats from Japan and share them with co workers. It gets so crazy sometimes they are bugging me to "hook them up" with a few boxes. Sometimes you feel like a "pusher". Laughing

The cool part of this was all the cool Japanese sellers that loved doing business with me.

I've purchased quite a few varieties. My niece loves when I put together a special snack bag when we go on trips. Matcha soft Oreos and Kit Kats.

Chances are if I can find a box it's going to cost quite a bit, especially if it's a limited edition item. If I can get my hands on this, I'm not sharing. Laughing Laughing Laughing

Bought one. Now I just gotta wait and see how it tastes.

They are very good actually better than the US ones.

Some believe that it might be because in Japan Nestle still produces Kit Kat, whereas in the US, the rights were handed over to Hershey. But there is a difference in the taste.

But they have more crazy varieties. But depending on one you try might require an acquired taste. They have quite a variety based on their interests. I mean they have several variations of tea flavors like "matcha" (which is green tea, that is different from your Chinese green tea) or "toasted". Cheese cake, pudding, a variety of sweet potato, red bean, wasabi, fruit flavors, etc. Even corn.

But keep in mind most of time they'll sell them by the case which only contains 12. The "sake" comes in a case of 9 (damn why skim, give us 12). But buying just 1 pack can be costly enough. And they are smaller in size than the regular Western versions we know. But give it a try.
