(The linked video is region-locked to Japan.)

Lucky for me I am in Sasebo, in a Japanese hotel. Neat short video.

...Don't tell me this is what that concept video from last year was about? No wait, this seems to be in another setting featuring new characters. Well then that just leaves me once again asking, when are we gonna get anything on that new anime project they annonunced all the way back in December?

Yeah it's off the subject... I'm just frustrated by the utter lack of updates.

Yeah seriously, I'm anxiously waiting for the announcement of the fourth movie (the concept video was more or less a trailer for it. I figure the full movie being a thing is all but a done deal).

I guess it's cool that they keep the franchise alive with stuff like this game but I know it'll never show up outside of Japan anyway so it's hard to care.

? you saw one concept video with little to no actual animation and if you know anything about Shaft you would know they have been pretty busy as of late. They've been making Kizu for a while, had Owarimonogatari, next is two seasons of Sangatsu no Lion, the Kubrick Cycle OVA's and that Fate/Extra thing.

Calm the down and remember that Kizumonogatari was announced in 2011(?) for 2012 and was released on 2016. Do you want Shaft to actually have the time and money to make you a good product or do you want them to rush out crap?

Chill.

Yeah give it some time..i am sure they might release something to it later..the concept movie was basically them saying that they are still interested in it.

there going tobe bust for a little while longer. Maybe they might release something new for the 10th anniversary of the series in the near future.

I have never followed the Monogatari franchise and pay little attention to studios as a whole unless they are specifically working on something that interests me. Also they sure managed to put out a sequel to Madoka the TV-series in three years. And I seem to recall there being relatively regular updates from the announcement of that sequel and it actually being released. We are now coming up on three years since Rebellion, which, by the way, unlike the TV-series, ended on a note that very deliberately left the plot hanging, and what do we have? A concept video that came out close to a year ago followed by them going "Yeah, we're definitely making a new anime! Details to come at a later time." As a fan of the franchise, who was utterly dissatisfied with how Rebellion ended, I find the continuing lack of anything frustrating. And you say there were four years between the announcement and the release of Kizumonogatari. Fair enough, but did the Monogatari franchise not also have several other anime in the meantime?

The sequel to Rebellion is approaching final Rebuild of Evangelion film levels of elusiveness and mythological status.

Correct, but the Monogatari franchise is an adaptation, the story is already made. Madoka is all original and has to be authored by the Magica Quartet (Ume Aoki, Atsuhiro Iwakami, Akiyuki Shinbo, and Gen Urobuchi). The last two are most problematic as Urubochi has been doing other projects (Psycho-Pass movie, Expelled from Paradise, and Thunderbolt Fantasy) and Shinbo runs Shaft (very busy this year and the next).

Artists require patience to produce good work. The new main work will come in due time. I wonder if the story for this game is a test for a new writer, since it seemed like Urobuchi had finished his work on the series? May be a less risky way to see how they'd be recieved. World building is good.

Despite no guarantee it's getting an English version, I figured it would be nice to put it on the "Christine Marie Cabanos - VO Actress" page. I did that a few days ago.
