From what I recall, Kiznaiver sold really poorly in Japan, and Aniplex often operates under the (frequently false) assumption that domestic performance is a good indication of potential overseas sales.

Uhm... Kiznaiver was never popular. Not even in Japan.

With this, I think Kiznaiver and Hai-Furi will be joining the list of titles that will not be receiving Home Video releases.

Occultic;Nine says hello. That also sold really poorly.

Well, looking at CR and MAL numbers, it did much better than ON in the West, where AoA is selling to.

I'm confused, did AOA ever confirm they had Kiznaiver, didn't Crunchyroll have the rights for that?

Aniplex was a co-producer on the show, so some people assume that if Aniplex of America wanted it, they could easily get it. I'm not sure how true that is, though.

Occultic:Nine, and with a dub? It is an okay title, but I get the impression that a lot of people disliked it; I assume AoA knows what it is doing. DuchessBianca commented the other day on Aniplex USA's change in philosophy with all the dubs announced. I am not complaining, but it is an intriguing development.

I am more pleased to see that Aniplex USA is releasing more titles on disc. They were starting to left unreleased a bunch of their newer streaming titles. On the other hand, they are sticking to their half cour release strategy for new titles. It is better than no physical release at all, but one cour sets are more convenient.

It did very well for today's standards and it succeeded in promoting and attracting tourists to the town it was based off of(if I remember correctly).

Edit: According to someanithing, it sold 7,891 on average.
