I saw this movie last night. I thought it was great, but I'd understand if people from the communities portrayed thought they were being insulted and stereotyped.: This is what the French and the Japanese see when they look at the US. If you can distance yourself from that, it's great.
Definitely Studio 4c at the top of their game. I'd rate it higher than Tekkonkinkreet, but it's more in that vein.

Frankly, considering the amount of often mean-spirited stereotyping that Americans tend to do with the French and the Japanese as if it was a completely natural thing, I'd say it wouldn't hurt to be in their shoes for a little while. (For the record I'm none of these nationalities.)
Anyway, I hope I'll find a way to be able to watch this, it looks fun.
