It seems really strange that they would permanently close the whole thing over what are going to be (even in the worst case) temporary measures. Was there really no way they could ride things out with limited access for the next year?

I'm gutted! I had to cancel my April trip due to the pandemic and now it won't be there when I finally get to visit Tokyo for the first time

It's sad to see, but hopefully they will come back at some point and at least keep the shop open on the first floor.
