Upon watching episode 3, my opinions of the main trio have now completely changed, from the additional context. Anna specifically- she's not the bedrock of group, despite how she presents. She's in denial about Cossette's death, and is shoehorning Destiny into that role; which I feel will inevitably backfire. Takt retreated back into his shell, and is thus difficult to read- what does he actually think about Destiny? One can very easily make the case that he would resent her for essentially hijacking and desecrating the body of someone who had finally got him out of his shell the first time.

Definitely passed the 3 episode test for me. I hope the pacing balances out a bit going forward, and I'm definitely eager to see what happens next.

This allows for even more Episode 3 sometimes struggles to convey the mountain of plot details that Takt and his new Musicart partner need to learn in order to get the plot moving,
I think you lost some words here.

Fun show, very pretty, I love the Musicart designs and the vibrant colors. I can't say I'm particularly invested in the early stages of Takt and Destiny learning to be a functional team given that we already got that in episode 1, so if the show continues on that way I hope it keeps things interesting. Hopefully Cosette comes back, though I doubt it.

^ He wants Beetlejuice, not Batman. Since we probably can't get Michael Keaton, maybe Steve Blum would do.

I like this so far, but I wish they had picked another name than "musicarts" for the fighters. My brain splits that up as "musi-carts" instead of "music-arts" and I keep imagining them going off to battle in tumbrels.

My main misgiving about the series is that, for all the music-related terminology being thrown around, the Musicarts (the Spanish subs call them Musicatto) and their conductors don't really "fight with music". The conductor doesn't even appear to have much control over their Musicart, Destiny pretty much does whatever she wants without any input from Takt. Her weapons don't produce music either, and even if the bgm swells during the fights, we have no reason to believe the music is diegetic.
The opening sequence on episode one made me believe Takt needed to be playing the piano for Destiny to fight, but we later see that is not the case. The most we've seen is Takt using music to lure the D2 in but there's nothing about the Musicarts that is intrinsically musical. We're told they're powered by music or a manifestation of music but there's no apparent visible or audible manifestation of it.

Ep 04 is so boring, the whole episode is like a tutorial in a game

And also I don't what happened after ep 02 but I felt like the MC took a change, not in a good way. I thought he was an easy going guy who just likes music.. I guess. But going back to see how the story starts and see him act like total prick who just whining, it really annoys me Mad

Please change back when the show was interesting in ep 01 before turning into a disappointment

This is why you watch three episodes to give a show a chance, but watch six episodes to be sure. Rarely does a show improve dramatically after six.

Since this is an adaptation of a mobile game though it's not out yet. It just has a higher production quality than Lost Child.

We're four episodes in. I'm frustrated that we're still mired in what is essentially a goddamned training arc listening to speeches about how they need to work together better. It'd be more at least a little more tolerable if Takt wasn't a glorified pokemon trainer about 2 human paperweights, doing a little dance on the sideline with no discernable effect or purpose, or if their failures were as part of some story it was telling, but neither of those things are the case. Same goes for the side characters, who continued to just be vectors for exposition. You can faff all you want about how they're not working together, or are working together, with as many musical terms thrown in as you want, but you're still doing it about quite literal random monsters in a field that you're killing out of boredom.

They traveling across rural America, murdering the local wildlife as they go but they don't tell any story at all. Hell, we're in Vegas, and all we do here is visit a corn farm. In the last six minutes of the episode, we kick down the doors to a casino to kill a handful of roly polys that were in the basement. Which has absolutely nothing to do with the corn farm that we were visiting. Hell, I'm not even sure the main characters knew that the one corrupt dude existed at all. Was he seriously supposed to be the antagonist of the episode?

Episode 2 was great. If it was a show that just stuck to the normal life part of things, but well that's not what this is.

Music of the OP is great, and the animation and visuals and character designs are also top notch. It's been entertaining so far. The conductor thing doesn't make sense, but this is kind of based on a game right? So I guess you have to view it from that framework. Not ideal, but so far the flashiness is nice, but I'm hoping for more stuff like Episode 2.

I found this to be a markedly better episode- partly because we have something of an antagonist (the D2 don't count,) and partly because the 3 characters introduced are more entertaining to me. Also, Takt pretty aggressively snubbing authority figures is amusing to me.

I'm trying to like this but.....

It's 100% style over substance. I'm already at the point where I don't care if the main characters die horribly.

Cardboard cutout characters, plot & script - fights look great though.

Might drop this pretty soon. Fruits of evolution is better (thats not saying much)...

I thought this was the best episode since the first, especially how good the animation was throughout. I enjoyed Walkure who reminded me of Tsukiumi from the series Sekirei; a blushing tsundere is my kryptonite. Embarassed

Takt having exactly zero patience for the blatantly evil and occasionally off-model villain was almost as hilarious as him sitting on the car Anna was struggling to jack up.

Walkure a cute, hopefully she shows up again soon.
