This was my favorite surprise reveal on Wednesday. Once I heard that music start playing, a sense of familiarity entered me head (Shimomura in Versus XIII) then once I saw hooded Marin, my first thought was Noctis (No, not Yozora, I think about the source first), then they showed him running and it all became clear. Then Sari was shown and the music made it even clear it was Shimomura. Then Marin and Sari meeting was straight out of the Versus XIII trailer with Noctis and Stella. I also love how Marin's eyes light up red like Noctis eyes did back when he had the "Eyes that see the light of expiring souls" and Sari has blue eyes like Stella. The difference is the color of the powers are switched since Noctis had blue and Stella had orange.
Then its revealed Nojima is also writing. That's when I knew it was Furyu Fantasy Versus XIII. Also, reading the interview regarding how this happened. Thank you Isobe. Plus, the meaning of Reynatis. Lastly, I love Sari's design and Marin's seiyuu is... lol. |

A surprising amount of action RPG's have you prowling real Japanese cities amidst crazy fantasy stuff.
Also throw in Scarlet Nexus with the dual protagonists. Sounds like the leads are Chiaki Kobayashi and Akari Kito? |

It seems very vanilla so far, compared to what we get from Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy games that are action rpg based.
Hopefully they realize this, and put their best foot forward. |
