Would be amazing to get a full color Fullmetal Alchemist manga physically.

Eugh. ‘Reformatting’ a classic like this, where the consistent paneling pattern is one of its strengths, for vertical scroll sounds like an act of butchery to me.

I guess I'm morbidly curious how well it'll adapt into webtoon format.

So like, I've only seen one or two of these "webtoon" things, but I instantly found the endless vertical scrolling to be hideously annoying, and I have no earthly idea why anyone would choose to consume a comic in that matter. I know that's big old-man-yells-at-cloud energy, but still.

Its ideal if you're reading on a cell phone.

Even on a phone the endless scrolling seems like it would be incredibly tedious. And more generally I don't understand the appeal of reading manga and the like on tiny screens in the first place. I'd rather not squint my way through every page.

As someone who reads a lot of manga and comics on his phone, the endless scrolling is not an improvement.

Webtoon in general butchers everything it touches, from the format to the parasitic over-monetization.

This is basically the equivelent of when people upload shows to Tiktok in vertical format and cuts only official. Apparently a lot of kids love watching/reading things in vertical format these days. So much for the advent of widescreen.

I’ve purchased physical releases of webcomics, but I have never done a side by side comparison. I don’t know how I feel about an original b/w manga being colorized though.
