I have hopes for this being a fun comedy, but I acknowledge it may run into Repetitive Premise issues.

The first episode was fun (plus crazy and somewhat educational) bit it does indeed seem like a premise that can turn into too much repetition. What gives me hope that it won't is the story and how completely serious the show is taking itself. The latter consists of loud music and over the top emotional reactions to the frankly cute situations. The story is interesting in that Masaki is likely related to the organization that caused the outbreak and might have even been a cat himself, them trying to solve the puzzle bit by bit could keep things interesting.

Episode 1

That was fun, but can they keep a one note joke going? I sure hope so.

I don't know the name of the voice actor doing the main character, but he always does a good job with this kind of humor, and that's a big plus. As mentioned, I don't know how long a zombie apocalypse without real horror can sustain itself, but the anime is trying something new and original, and it deserves some benefits of some doubts just for that.

That said, I watched a lot of Sunday anime (two of them early this Monday morning) and I wasn't as keen on any of them as I was with several strong premieres during the week. Hotel Inhumans and Gachiakata fared best with me. Most of those anime are right there on the fringe, and some of them are going to have to go.

I think it is safe to say that the cats being zombies premise/joke is going to stay the main draw of the show. Yes, the second episode introduced some new characters (hello Freddie Mercury) and reveiled a bit more of the story but neither is anything special as of yet. About 75% of the episode was the cats being cute and people running plus turning due to not being prepared.

I loved the Akira reference with the cat, Tetsuo, stuck up the tree!

I think I'm dropping this one. It's certainly not bad, but the lessening novelty was already starting to have an effect on my enjoyment by episode 2, and I might just not be the intended audience for this one as I didn't go for comedy anime like Kemono Michi: Rise Up or Fluffy Paradise either. Cold, literal, shriveled souled bastard that I am, I find the conceit that the cats aren't being constantly blown away with shotguns or set on fire like a proper zombie thriller a bit too precious. We're talking about the survival of the human race! Anyway, for me, the anime is at a cross purposes where the comedy's not making me laugh enough and the suspense isn't making me tense up enough.

Was it just Freddie Mercury, or were the next two guys supposed to be members of Queen too?

NGL, if it were me, I would have probably just sacrificed myself to the cats.

So, is the twist going to be that he was a cat that was turned into a human?
Although, that doesn't feel like something that can have a zombie trope cross over.

I am thinking the charm is going to run out quickly, that I can't quite see the whole premise be worth 12 episodes. It would have to do something surprising to feel worthwhile.

Coincidentally, this week's Osumatsu-san seemed to be doing a parody of this parody. Watermelon aliens were handing out free watermelons, which contained a seed that when eaten, turned people into watermelon people controlled by the aliens to spread more watermelons everywhere. I think resolving it in one episode was a wiser choice than making a series out of it. Smile But damn, between this and Kowloon Generic and Summer Pockets' fixation on watermelon, these anime are killing me. Ima bout ready to go knock over a watermelon stand... Watermelon, watermelon everywhere, and not a slice to eat.

Yeah, as of episode three the charm and uniqueness of the theme/parody is indeed starting to wear thin (for me anyway). You can jump back in time, show the leader of the country or have chaos inside a supermarket all you want but they all result in the same joke being told. ''Cats are great plus cute and are taking over the world so let's run for it'' only gets you so far before it gets tedious. I am hoping that some central story is soon to start.

All the names of the myriad cat-related agencies was amusing at least. But it shouldn't have taken them so long to realize that allergy girl was reacting to present cats and not just still sniffling from previous encounters.

Episode 3 was laying things on really thick and creeping into cringe territory. I agree, something is going to have to actually happen quick because the show's one trick is getting old pretty fast.
