I guess it's from a manga, but it feels like a throwback to the harem visual novel days of anime adaptation. Not that I mind, now that we're not supersaturated with these harem shows, I can appreciate the occasional one as a bit of fun.

Not really into the forced marriage thing, nor the sister being into her brother after finding out he was switched at birth.

Episode 24
And another mostly uninteresting harem anime is over, or at least these are the type of modern harem anime that I have really lost interest in. Probably the part I liked the least was any romance stuff with Nagi and Sachi. Can anime just stop with the incest? I don't care that they found out that they are not blood related. If I was to pick out parts that I like, it would probably be its charismatic male characters, the ones like Yohei and Shion, they just seemed kind of fun like Yohei throwing his birthday party to share with his family. But it was almost like the show hated these characters, always threating them like they were the butts of jokes. Similarly, I did like most stuff with Erika's social media identity, except maybe the parts where it just has to drill into the audience that she is so beautiful that random people are totally enamoured by looks. It is almost like these sorts of shows think that we won't appreciate their heroines unless they are wanted by absolutely everyone in the setting. I just think there is a space there for an anime to have a character that is good at social media and enjoys doing things like dressing up in modelling getup or taking pictures of their food. And not really being mocked for it being something sort of feminine, and feminine things not fitting certain aesthetics are worthy of ridicule. But I really don't have a whole lot else to really say. Sure, Nagi has a character to him, but I can't say I ever really found him that interesting. My rating is going to be Decent (6/10), I didn't really lose my time, I just wish that there was something a bit more interesting to it than just another harem. |

I wasn't around these parts when season 1 came around, but I'll go ahead and confess that I kinda like this anime. No, I didn't like the Sachi development either, but I like the Erika and Hiro part, and Nagi is fairly decent as harem protagonists go. He studies hard but isn't the easily bullied otaku type that fit that description about 80% of the time in these anime. He also isn't afraid to put his heart on the line though things did get complicated as harem comedies do. The show laughs at his expense sometimes, but I never felt like it was mean spirited laughter. I don't want him to be perfect. And to be fair, the show also laughs at Erika's and Sachi's and Hiro's expense sometimes. I could be wrong, but I don't think the show is mean spirited.
It's not my fave, or even a must-see, but I tend to drop most modern harem comedies - I think the last one I stuck with all the way through was the one about Medaka Kuroiwa being Impervious, and that barely. Since then there's been...I think I'm getting the seasons right - 2.5 dimensional seduction, I Married the Girl I Hate Most, Can a Boy/Girl Friendship survive, the one about the Amagami Sisters, and the Shiunji Family thing, so I tend to stick with maybe one out of five? And I stuck with this one and thought the first episode was pretty fun. I don't know why they're throwing another harem candidate into the bonfire when Hiro moving into the house seems like drama aplenty, but there you go..[/url] |

Yeah, it is not a bad harem show, though I would struggle to call it a good anime. It is amusing enough due to the ever increasing drama yet it stays cheerful and none of the characters are that annoying. It indeed also helps that Nagi actually has some good qualities that make it sensible for a girl to fall in love with him (something most harem protagonists do not have at all).
With the first episode there are now four people in the house, one seems to be kidnapped and a new love interest is drawing closer. |

As smart as Nagi is made out to be, he sure can be really impulsive and stupid too. Yeah, you can drag the girl away from her family and go somewhere else but when you don't even have enough money on you to take a single trip by bus....
Ai has joined the fight, I think that makes for a rather late addition to the harem. |

Ai is obviously that blonde girl from Watari Kun's ******* is Collapsing in a bad wig. I don't know why this woman is going around from anime to anime disguising herself as people's childhood friends and stalking them, but somebody ought to report this to the anime authorities.
Though seriously, prior to today's episode, I would have voted for Sagawa as the harem candidate most likely to snap and reach for an electric carving knife if things go awry. Not that I think a School Days twist is likely, I'm just saying, between Erika, Sachi, and Hiro, Hiro seems like the wildest card. But this Ai seems to be missing a few synapses. As to Nagi's impulsiveness, I think that's where he and Hiro connect. She's also prone to making life changing decisions on a spur of a moment. I am a little curious about where Erika's head is at in terms of Nagi. Has she forgotten about Nagi's missing older brother? I'm assuming that was him briefly appearing on the OP. Erika seems to be leaning pretty heavily toward team Nagi the last two episodes. |

Ai has entered the battlefield with a rather strong introduction in the third episode. She is very clear in what she is going for and while she only had a half episode introduction it was not a bad one. I doubt that she will end up with Nagi but she will force the other girls to make moves. Some of that was already in the episode with Sachi testing the waters and Hiro trying to find out where Nagi is at. Even Erika while not making moves is starting to sort out her feelings.

ANN has to buy some more bandwidth or something. I've been dealing with connecting issues for days - not being able to get on the site, getting on the site and getting kicked off the site, being able to read forum entries but not being able to send any, being able to submit a post but having to wait 90 seconds plus to see if it goes through or not, etc. and it's definitely not a cache problem or adblocker setting on my end.
Anyway, I've been liking the new season a lot. The only issue I really have with AI is that I already like Erika and Hiro and Sachi (though I don't want to see Sachi and Nagi together), so having yet another romantic lead that seems likable doesn't really bring something new to the table, it just brings more of what the anime already has an abundance of. I sort of see what the anime is doing though. The biggest problems Harem comedies have are (1) not prolonging things so long that fans just get disgusted with the lack of progress and leave (2) not descending into pathos and depressing vibes when the plot does get advanced and some characters the readers like eventually have to get their hearts broken. There are far more harem anime that were great at the beginning but became unpleasant or just left the series hanging than there are anime like Quintessential Quintuplets that handled developments to a satisfying conclusion. I'm thinking Ai is a way of delaying the inevitable. but there's still lots of wiggle room before this anime has to start making hard choices. Erika has to deal with Nagi's biological brother. Hiro has to deal with her fiance. Sachi is dealing with her efforts to become an honor student and go to Nagi's school. Nagi doesn't need other complications because the other romantic leads are his complications... |

Yeah, the site is pretty unstable as of late. It makes posting a fair bit more annoying than it should be.
While I agree that Ai is there to prolong the current phase of the story she makes for a pretty kickass addition as of episode 4. She is smoking the other girls right now and is more than capable (maybe a bit too capable even). In a way she might actually speed things up in forcing the other girls into action. |

As of episode 5 Ai is the kind of girl that I would personally avoid. She was already intense in the previous episodes but she has crossed a line with using half truths and the media to get her way. That is ignoring the serial killer style wallpaper that should have any sane person running. The messy situation has become even messier with the ending.

I took a break for a week, figuring ANN would either fix the problem or that so many people would get tired of the situation that traffic would decrease, and I haven't been having any problems since I came back.
I'm giving this AI plotline time to develop, but I'm not a fan. I didn't really understand how the costume/cosplay contest played out. Erika should have been a veteran at that kind of thing given her influencer roots - her misstep seemed strange. None of the others were cosplaying anything - Sachi really is a sister, Hiro really is a shrine maiden, and Ai really is an idol. The judge selection was strange. Basically not a fan of this Ai storyline in general, but I'm giving it time to develop before jumping to any judgements since I've invested in the original characters and still like the show. |

Episode 6 might be the best episode of the show thus far. It was over the top crazy with the mother being a huge troll and the poor couple having to deal with her antics (illegal antics I might add). That is on top of both being a bit eccentric in certain ways. I had to laugh at Nagi being bound to prevent him from doing pervy things while Erika has a dirty mind and is the biggest pervert in the show.

7:
I have no idea what is happening anymore, it is utter chaos and hopping from character to character. The brother thing has also surfaced once more and he is supposedly close by. |
