I haven't gotten a Switch 2 and I'm not sure when/if I will because I haven't owned a console since exclusivity started becoming a thing of the past. There was no reason for me to buy a PlayStation 5 when all the games for it I was interested in were on PC as well. Nintendo definitely has a much stronger first party exclusive line-up than Sony does but at the same time I feel like I'm outgrowing their games or more accurately their games are outgrowing me. If this was 10 years ago Pokemon alone would have sold me on a console but the direction the franchise has gone since the 3DS era is not one I'm a fan of.
The same can be said with Zelda going into open world sandbox style gameplay rather than the tried and true Ocarina of Time style or the 2D style. After being disappointed with Sword and Shield and Breath of the Wild I have no interest in those franchises until they do something else. Seeing Metroid going open world now too is definitely not selling me on it either. Although to be honest I always preferred 2D Metroid over the Prime series anyway. Mario Odyssey was fun though so that franchise still seems to my liking. Maybe when they announce the next new 3D Mario game I'll take another look. |

Prime 4 is why I bought the Switch 2. I'm not going to suggest that the lineup is impressing me though. Prime 4 was overdue, and it better be good. It's been cooking forever. The rest of the lineup is lacking the "Breath of the Wild" factor though. Love it or hate it, that game sold Switches.
I knew when it was announced I was going to get the new console when/if I could - I really, really enjoy playing videogames and Nintendo's games tend to be among my favorites. Time will tell though if beyond people like me the market is excited for this holiday offering. My personal guess is sales are going to slow down quite a bit. |

I don't have a Switch 2 because I didn't think it really had anything to offer me that I was terribly interested in at the time, but I think Prime 4 is gonna force me to buy one the same way that Miles Morales & Spider-Man 2 made me buy a PS5.
I remember having a great time with Air Ride back in the day, but it was when I was in the same room as my brothers. Now that we're grown and apart, I don't think the new one will be able to capture me again and even if the online is good (which, with Nintendo, is always a shaky prospect) so I can play with them, I doubt Riders will be able to rekindle that magic. |
