I don't know about the English dub, but in the Japanese track it was Toa Yukinari who voiced Tetsudome in her younger form.

At first the training seemed predictable but the second the scene ended, Sanda downright said he doesn't want to use violence on the child. I wondered if he prefers betting on his immortality as Santa Claus instead by receiving headshots instead.

Did you mean "can jive (jibe) with," or were you using "jive" in the sense of a taunt? It doesn't seem like the latter, since you used "with" instead of "at" after it. If you did mean "can't" then I don't understand how any earlier logical lapses prevent you from being on board with this power-up, unless you are using "jive" in a sense I'm completely unfamiliar with.

At least here I know you meant Namatame. And boy is she one creepy kid.

I think it's a shame that this anime is being overlooked*. I didn't pay much attention to the manga when it was released, but I think this anime adaptation is much better than 90% of the anime released this season. It still has many tropes of the usual action series, though: crazy battles and even crazier enemies...
I hope they get a second season
* I blame Amazon. But I don't know if it would it have more followers or views on CR, due to its very inusual nature.

Yeah, Amazon has a tendency to grab things and then assume the audience will turn up for it. Coming from the author of Beast Stars and being animated by Science Saru coming right off Dan Da Dan are both worth promoting to at least get some initial interest.

I'm surprised how the romance is portrayed in this series. In contrast to Legoshi and Haru, Sanda and Nico seem to enjoy each other and don't come across as a distant or tabboo. After all the warnings, Sanda finally kissed her and showed not regret at all.
Moving on to the battle, Black Santa seems like a parody of fighting series generally seen in the demography. The dark side Sanda has involves hurting children by giving them big hugs. Even the music used for that scene was making fun of how ridiculous it was.

Did Tarantino direct this episode?

I wonder how far can that book Sanda go. The Black Santa state is actually based on a Japanese story about Santa Claus so in potential upcoming seasons, Santa Claus might actually develop powers from different types of stories.

Thought this last episode was a good summation for the season as a whole for me: strong character work dragged down by half the episode being taken up by action that doesn't go hard enough on its potential lampooning of shonen battles and so just ends up feeling like an obligation rather than something that meaningfully adds to the whole
