I think this is the last premiere of the season. It is sadly not one of the better ones. How much more of it I will watch heavily depends on the side characters. The love game was already starting to feel a bit repetitive by the end of the first episode so additional characters are needed to keep it interesting. The animation is also rather mediocre and the many shots to wonky CG does not make things any better. |

Winter 2026 and Spring 2026 were so close together that I never did that seasonal ritual where I sit down and watch every trailer for every upcoming anime and study them and make bets with myself on which ones will wind up on my keeper list.
As a result, I went into this one armed with nothing but the basic premise, and the premise sounded like an annoying Love is War lite. The anime isn't as annoying as I thought it would be - but as Smurk-meister mentioned, I can't see this dynamic not becoming repetitive when it was already starting to get that way before the pilot was over. The bright colors pop whenever the leads aren't on screen, and the musical backgrounds are pretty well done whenever the leads aren't talking. But the leads are onscreen and talking for the vast majority of the time, so that's not really enough to sway me much. Not completely indifferent, but not impressed. |

The second episode was a bit better (though still nothing great). Part of that is some other characters showing up and there being a better mix between teasing/trying to win the game and just having fun together. The gaming and having lunch together bits were good fun and the flashbacks provide some fuzzy context. |
