The shoujo renaissance is real!

I'm so happy that we are getting a lot of shoujo mangas getting adapted into anime adaptation lately.

Methinks Sonyroll ran out of isekai IP to mine, and are looking for another shoujo hit like Fruits Basket or Sailor Moon. Hana-kimi anime wasn't it, and Red River might not be another Fushigi Yugi. So, let's just hope a certain nameless demographic hasn't dropped anime/manga completely in favor of horror flicks like Obsession. Or video game movies like Mario and Minecraft.

Well that would explain the recent reprint from Viz...

Still waiting on From Far Away, unless they lost rights or something

The manga was already great, but extremely excited to see what direction Ueno takes it in

The romance is the least interesting part of the series for me. Kyousuke Motomi’s sense of humour and the intriguing plot are what stand out

I'm positively GIDDY at this announcement! I adore Motomi's series, and Dengeki Daisy was my first one. Problematic, yet, but it has far more good going for it than not. I pray it's well-adapted and equally well-received, because more of her manga deserve to be animated. Queen's Quality anime, anyone? *fingers crossed*

You can buy digital copies of From Far Away on the Viz app IIRC, so I'm guessing they're waiting to do 3in1s like Red River. Probably gonna be announced this month.
