All I seem to do is ask questions. But I have another question, actually I have 2. First, Pioneer changed its name to Geneon? Or whatever compnay it was that did this, does this mean they are going to re-release all of their stuff in new packaging or just "select titles" I have seen some DVDs with a red banner on the top of the case. Is that what it is?
My second question starts from when I was going to buy the Samurai X OVA collection and it comes with 3 movies. But the as far as the OVAs sold individually ther are only 2 and on one of them there are 2 movies on it (Trust and Betrayal) I think it said. Also this kinda seemed odd, the box set cost more than the movies individually. Is it because their is more stuff included in the DVD's that came with the box set?

I'm sure Geneon may eventually re-release their entire catalouge of older titles.
It looks like the "Samaurai X" box comes with the individual OVA episodes instead of the Director's Cut of the first four spliced together into a movie.
Trust and Betrayal being the 4 prequel episodes, Reflection being the two sequel episodes.

They'll change the logos as they run out of backstock of titles more than likely.

I'd agree with this. Pioneer and some tech company merged to get the shiny new "Geneon". So, it wasn't a takeover or anything: its still Pioneer, just better.

No it's not. Pioneer sold their anime division to Dentsu lock stock and barrel. They just don't need to trash the existing product that's all. It's the same way that Warner distributes a ton of DVDs with "MGM" logos at the beginning. Warner owns MGM's pre-1984 catalog.

This is off of the ANN news archive, if you ever have questions on someting like this you can usually bet that their will be an article over it.
On October 1st, Pioneer LDC and Pioneer Entertainment, the Pioneer subsidiaries recently acquired from Pioneer by Dentsu, will officially change their names. October 1st is the date when all shares of the companies are officially transferred to Dentsu.
Pioneer Entertainment (USA) Inc. will, will henceforth be known as Geneon Entertainment (USA) Inc. , while Pioneer LDC will have its name changed to Geneon Entertainment Inc.
The new name, Geneon, is derived from the words generate and eon (Eternity or a Billion years), and is meant to signify innovation and longevity. The name change signifies a transfer of company shares to Dentsu.
Geneon Entertainment (USA) Inc. new websites will be at geneonanimation.com and geneonmusic.com (replacing pioneeranimation.com and pioneermusic.com) , Geneon Entertainment Inc. will have a new domain name as well, geneon-ent.co.jp (replacing pldc.co.jp).
North American company president, Mr. Yosuke Kobayashi, is stated to be remaining with the company and will be the president of Geneon Entertainment (USA) Inc. In a statement, Mr Kobayashi said, "We have built a solid and respected reputation as a licensee among publishers, rights holders and anime producers in Japan." Adding "With Dentsu as our new parent, we anticipate tapping into its global resources as well as our own to expand our anime offerings to the growing North American audience."

As far as the "Rurouni Kenshin" OAV's are concerned, the box set includes the first OAV series Tsuioku-hen (a.k.a. "Trust & Betrayl") in it's original U.S. released format (4 episodes on 2 DVDs) and the second OAV Seisouhen (a.k.a. "Reflection") which is 2 episodes on 1 DVD, hence 3 DVDs.
The other OAV you may be confusing is the Tsuioku-hen movie (a.k.a. "Samurai X: Trust & Betrayl, Director's Cut"). That is just a compressed version of the original, but since it's cut, is therefore, cheaper than the original 4 episodes.
The only difference I can see between the 2 versions is that that the director's cut is in movie format, has an extra fight scene, is missing music in one scene, and is letter boxed to give it a more theatrical feel (though it really doesn't).
But for your reference, "Trust & Betrayl" is NOT 2 separate OVAs. It's just a cheesy name ADV made to attract more people to it. And just so you're clear, there are only 2 OAVs, and if I were you, I'd get the box set (unless you don't have the money of course).
