When Espisode 1 of Witch Hunter Robin was shown at 11:00 p.m. Central Time, on 3/31/04, on my local cable network, it appears that someone with access to the broadcast either hacked the original media used for the broadcast or the broadcast itself. Throughout the episode mustaches and beards were superimposed over the faces of the various characters and objects, such as the moon. It appears as if someone scribbled over the color frames of the animation itself with a black pen, with the scribbles appearing and disappearing in some scenes, while in other scenes the scribbles stayed in place until a scence changed. I was wondering what is going on? I was hoping to catch up the espisodes I missed, but this makes watching the series unbearable. This happened on the first broadcast of the episode during the night - it will be interesting to see if it happens again during the 2nd nightly broadcast.

Oh yeah! Didn't the guys in Cartoon Network do that during that time?

the same thing happened with the Big O and Cowboy Bebop episode for tonight.....
...kinda tacky......didn't really make me laugh. But I didn't mind since I've seen the episodes before, so I was like: "eh".......
[Edit]: they put mustaches on the non-anime shows as well......there's equal treatment for ya

They need to release the AFD edits on DVDs! With Hunter Robin Special Edition with Adult Swim musctache action!
I'd buy it!

They're showing the same episodes again on Thursday so if you wanted to tape but missed out just do it tomorrow...
The thing was an April Fools Joke... And in my opinion... Not a very funny one either...
But this is Adult Swim we're talking about...
The only part I found at all funny the entire time was Naraku's funny looking hat and facial hair...

I thought it was some special feature that was on the DVD or something. I recorded it cause I didn't get the first episode the first time around. I would think that Adult Swim would be to scared of being accused of destroying it or something.

It took me a couple mustaches to realize that in Eastern time, it was technically April 1st already. (I didn't flip over to CN until 12am eastern, for Robin)
I liked the little sombrero hat they gave the crow. And that scene where the mustache was in the middle of the screen as the background panned down the line of the STNJ people, effectively giving all 3 a mustache. They should have drawn weird smilies on all round things, the moon, the Shikon Jewel, candle flame, etc, like they did with the chief's head in Robin.
The mustaches got old really quickly, but it was still funny when they changed things up a bit, like the handlebar mustache, beards, funny hats, and mustaches that characters moved into. It was amusing & unexpected. I'm glad that it just worked out that Robin had just finished and thus was a repeat.

Jeeze, the people at Williams street try and do something fun for the viewers on April Fools Day, and this is the thanks they get? Bah.
Was it cheesy and stupid? Yes.
But, was it funny? Hell yes. (IMO, of course)
When I finally caught on, I laughed myself to tears. Everytime a mustache hung suspended in the air, and a character moved to claim it, I couldn't help but roll.
It was the best gag I saw for the entirety of AFD, and I'm glad that the Williams Street guys put in the extra effort to make us laugh.

They played it again, last night, without the added stuff.
