Doom samples Fist of the North Star a few times on some voice skits on King Geedorah - Take Me To Your Leader.
Theres a Vampire Hunter D sample on the classic Compay Flow Funcrusher (Plus). Its the one thats along these lines: "I once heard of a mutant who can control space around him, and now it seems I've met him" I've always really liked this line by PMD on EPMD - Unfinished Business: "Stomp mudholes in posses (like who?) like Gigantor." And of course Method Man refers to the Wu-Tang forming like Voltron with GZA as the head on 36 Chambers. There has to be some more I'm not remembering. |

Is this by chance the song title or album title? Godzilla reference right here; all you have to do is swap out the double e's for "hi" and you've got the name of Goji's eternal three-headed rival. |

Oh, yea its a reference to Godzilla. King Geedora is one of MF Doom's (underground rapper of extraordinary talent) aliases. If you like Godzilla at all get this album for sure. It includes tons of samples from the Godzilla movies. You'll have a field day listening to it.

This group also includes Jet Jaguar, Rodan, Megalon, Gigan, King Ceasar, Kong, Spiega, Kamackeris, and Mecha Godzilla. Thier album is not as good as King Geedora's, but its still pretty dang good and worth picking up. It also includes lots of Godzilla samples and references. But you may want to wait on this one because they are re-releasing an improved version of it in a few months. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00008NW7B/qid%3D1083394913/sr%3D11-1/ref%3Dsr%5F11%5F1/104-3310123-8850362 Jet Jaguar (aka GM Grimm) and Rodan have solo albums out. Both are pretty nice. Megalon, Kong, and Spiega have albums in the works. There are also Monsta Mixes Volumes 1 and 2. |

It isn't hip hop, but Machinae Supremacy have a song called "The Wired" which I believe is a reference to the anime Serial Experiments Lain.

Didn't Micheal Jackson commission some special Japanese Anime clips for his "Scream" Video?

I think so, but I can't remember the video at all. The Daft Punk movie is pretty ill, but they're house.

Akira was the anime, I don't know if Michael himself chose the scenes or not... |
