I wouldn't jump to that conclusion just yet.

Ya'know. I'm really starting to think that Japan has absolutely no idea what a zombie is.

High School of the Dead had them dead-on, so to speak... But all of these other zombie stories seem a bit strange. Is it some strange Japanese folk-lore thing, or just a trend that people are following.

As for the "original premise" comments: Huh? That was sarcasm I hope?

The Blood writer? Ick, no thanks. I'd rather have my zombie shows without the horror and extreme violence.

MANGA Blood writer. He didn't create Blood+, he just adapted it to a manga.

But yeah, like earlier comments...Japan seems to have forgotten what a zombie is (brainless monster/stupid monster). Vampires got too old for them

Laughing Yeah, I prefer my zombie shows to be quietly understated and highly intellectual, too.

Is that supposed to be "story of a beautiful girl who regrettably wakes up as a zombie."?
"Regretfully" implies that the girl intentionally did something to bring this about herself and regrets or wishes she didn't have to make the decision to do it.
It sounds like this was done to her and she regrets her fate that it happened to her. - regrettably,

or better yet, "distressingly" or "unfortunately".

Although, if that's the copy you were given- I guess you have to leave it.

Ryō Ikehata's Aru Zombie Shōjo no Sainan (The Misfortune of a Certain Zombie Girl)

It reeks of a certain other Certain series, combined with that Melancholic one. I guess light novels really are like zombies; Mindless, similar and numerous.

I have a problem with animes that are based on non-comedy light novels. It's a bit like Oreimo describes in adapting them; Anime companies license them but then they don't know what to do with them in terms of plot and the smaller number of volumes, the worse it gets.

Strong characters, weak situations, interactions and conclusions. I'm not expecting anything different from this certain zombie girl.

It seems like there are actually more light novel adaptions these days than manga. I wonder what the reason for the big boost in LN adaptions is.

I'd guess that writers who are not artists saw an opportunity some time ago, and their works are now reaching that phase of the pipeline.
